Mobile Gambling TipsTipday Sports Betting Advice
It was only a matter of time before the real world of sports betting, and the virtual world of social networking met, got married, and had a baby – and that baby has a name, and that name is TipDay (www.tipday.com).  The premise of TipDay is extremely simple. You sign up as a tipster, and you're presented with forthcoming matches in football, basketball, rugby league and rugby union.  Football takes in the national leagues of England, Germany, Italy and Spain, plus all of Europe's big games in the UEFA Champions League and Europa League.  For basketball it's leagues all over the world, including of course the NBA.  Rugby Union includes the English, French and Italian leagues plus European and World Cup competitions and friendlies, while for Rugby League it's just currently the Four Nations, with more leagues to be added once they kick off.

Once you're a tipster at TipDay, you can begin to make tips.  Choose your matches and make your predictions.  Once you've made a few tips, you're eligible for the leaderboard.  You rocket up the leaderboard if your tips come in, and you sink like the Titanic if your tips flop.  Finish in the top ten in a calendar month and you win cash prizes from £10 to the top prize of £150 and a TipDay Swag Bag.

The true beauty of TipDay comes with the “wisdom of crowds”.  By reviewing each fixture, you can easily gauge the consensus of opinion, and find out how many people are willing to put their tipping neck on the line one way or the other.

Naturally, once you think you've uncovered a banker, you can tip at the site, but you might also like a bit of a flutter for real cash.  TipDay makes this super easy for you, as it will give you the current best odds for your bet, and the online sports-betting site where they're available.  All it takes is one click and you're poised and ready to put your money where your mouth is.

TipDay's creators, 180Vita, have released a handy app for iOS and Android that allows TipDay tipsters to manage their picks on the fly.  The app is available from the App Store on iTunes and GooglePlay, and is easy to install and use – in fact the first time you use the TipDay app you're walked through how to choose your fixtures and make your tips.

Once you're logged in, you can go straight to the fixtures screen, which will show you either the most popular matches that are coming up over the next couple of weeks, or a list of fixtures sorted by how close they are to kicking (or tipping) off.  You can also see how many tips have been made for the game, and how many people are backing the home team to emerge with the spoils, and how many the visitors.

Stabbing a finger at a fixture opens up that game's information screen … or at least we assume it should.

It's not cruel to say that both TipDay and the TipDay app have a few teething problems.  We tried the TipDay app on a Samsung Galaxy S2 and a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, and we couldn't get the app to work properly on either of them.  When we selected a fixture, we only received a virtually blank screen as a response.  The bottom of the screen showed three buttons for “win”, “draw” or “lose”, and alarmingly, on the newer device, the buttons sprang out of alignment.

The TipDay website also has problem.  In Chrome, the main menu is a very helpful white text on a white background.  The menu works on Firefox, but on both browsers updating your user profile only works sporadically, especially if you're trying to change those all-important social networking details.
